Sheila – my big sister – all 5ft 1inch of her – I miss her. Although we haven’t met for over 25 years we maintained fairly regular contact with long telephone calls as has also been mentioned elsewhere. Sheila was funny, knowledgeable regarding UK and world affairs, and definitely the go to person for me to know about my early years. Sheila was 15 years my senior and the fount of all knowledge as to my younger life in the 1940’s. She is now passed – no more family history – no more putting the world to rights – no more laughing at trivia. Sheila you have left a hole in my life.

Our love and thoughts are with you all at this sad time. What a wonderful achievement to reach 95 years old and especially to have had independence for the majority of those 95 years. It was so nice that our Mums reconnected later in life seeing them both travel to see each other and once travel was out of the question they resorted to hour long phone calls, very special. Hold onto the beautiful memories that you have as they are what will get you through the tough days ahead. Love and strength to you all xxxx
