Anne was my art teacher at NPGHS in the 1980s. She has always been an inspiration to me and how I’ve lived my life. Her legacy will live on in many ways for many people as she has been such a huge influence over the years. Arohanui, Trina x

Anne was a dear friend of mums. I remember Anne's kindness and understanding when my mum was ill, and I know we were just a few of the people that Anne cared about and supported through difficult times. When I used to make dinner with mum and hear about her week, Anne (and Ross) came up in conversation a lot over the years. Mum admired you both very much for the volunteer work you did. Of course the 'Artizone Girls' came up in conversation too. I am glad to have had such great role models for retired life with that group. Attached is a portrait of Anne's cat Katy, painted by mum. Katy is now the indulged furry member of my household. Condolences to Ross and family, love from Lisa Dohig, Ken, Rose, Rachel and Yana.

Anne and Ross gave Gay and I such a warm welcome when I came to be Dean of Taranaki, and in the short time I was there you were both wonderfully supportive and wise. Thank you Anne for all the love you have shared with so many, the inspiration you have given, and the art you created for us to savour and enjoy. Now you rest in the closer embrace of God's love. Rest in peace. With love from Gay and Peter

I have known Anne since Stratford Tech High School days, 3P 4P 5P 6th Then To PNTC College, sharing a room 2 years at the YWCA. Anne was the expert Fingernail technician. Camping at Opunake beach one holiday during that time. Back to Taranaki, weddings and our youngest family members being in the same schools, West End and Spotswood College, and St Mary's youth group. One special memory is the fun we had in Palmerston North, attending Youth Group Sunday evenings at All Saints Church, then going out the back to put on our hats and making sure they were securely in place with Hat pins for Evensong. "The Day Thou gavest Lord is Ended" Of recent years meeting for monthly lunches with our NP based college friends. Also we shared having our daughters living in London with grandchildren to visit. Blessings Anne and your family.

I remember Anne very fondly as an inspiring art teacher. She prioritised helping students to discover their own artistic style and self-belief. I also appreciated her expertise, wit and kindness as a colleague and mentor at the start of my own teaching career. My sincere condolences to Ross and family. Anne loved you all so dearly.

Deepest sympathy and condolences to the family. Mrs Smith made a huge impact on me when she was my Art Teacher. She always loved my work and how unique my style was but I was told from other teachers it would not fit the marking process system. Mrs Smith told me to never change my style because art is everything and it speaks it's own words. Everyone is different and that is what makes the world interesting.Thank you Mrs Smith for this advice. Rest easy.
