Tributes

Sorry I couldn't be there to remember Betty with you all. She was the sweetest Nan to David. Thinking of you all during this time xx

Kate Burson (nee Calton)

Am so sad to not be able to be at Betty’s celebration of her life. Do so admire her selfless commitment to her beloved Chris and David, a woman capable of such selfless love who has brought joy to many through her flowers and music and her love of animals.

Remembered with great fondness and as the matriarch of our Morrow Clan. Rest in Peace cousin Bet.

I remember the little house in Whangarei with the most delicious grapes, I remember the sheep kept at the beach house and the excitement of the new home she got out there. The concrete deck with the most beautiful views. I remember the piano and music. A woman with such grace and dignity, who never judged never condemned just embraced us all. I remember calling her from the hospital room when Eamon was born and her surprise that he was only 10 minutes old and asking if I was still going to call him Seamus (Irish spelling). Such a gentle kind spirit who has had her dignity restored and is now at peace. With love to Chris and David for whom she meant so much more. xox

Laurette and Eamon

I have such fond memories of holidays with my Budge cousins learning how to wire flowers and make posy bowls with Bet in the florist shop. Bets expertise and flair with flowers was legendary. We both loved China with violets and spent many happy weekends in her retirement comparing collections and swapping treasures. Bet loved to play crib and no visit was complete without a few rounds and many jokes and stories and lots of good food. Chris and David were her pride and joy and she loved nothing more than sharing photos and stories of their lives. Bet was such a matriarch of the family and will be sorely missed and fondly remembered Much love to Chris and David and I’m sorry I am unable to be there but will ensure we are holding a fitting tribute here in Tauranga for Bet on Thursday
