I have loads of fond memories of visits to see Aunty Joy and family, mostly memories from Seddon street but some from Burns Ave too. Some of those memories were from my school-age years but maybe I got to appreciate more of Aunty Joy's heart towards me (and later also my growing family) during visits to Seddon St once I had moved away from the Manawatu. I will cherish the memory of her huge smile and her always unreserved excitement at seeing us, her genuine interest in how we were doing and what we were up to. Love to you Uncle Tony, and all of the family.
I echo my brothers words and will especially miss Sister Joy. From the early days in Palmy til later on til now, all my trips home to Feilding, there was always a Joy there, overflowing Christ, and serving that overflow to the saints and us ‘young ones. May the Lord continue to fill you all with joy, from the abundant riches of His Grace. And Brother Tony may the Lord comfort you and further strengthen you. You have a family to be proud of in no small part due to Joy and her faithfulness. It was a special treat to be able join with you and your family for this sad, for sure, but also a joyous celebration of a faithful sister. In Him Your Brother Steve Salamonson.
Matthew, Debbie, Gavin and families (you three are first as you all were my dear young people) and brother Tony, Sorry I am so far away but was blessed to watch online. While Joy is now gone in the flesh her spirit lives on, waiting the Lord return. Death cannot hold the resurrection life the more interred the more it multiplies. I do not remember a day when I was living in Feilding that there was not a smile on sister Joy's face and words of encouragement. The best part was hearing all the grand children singing. May the Lord continue to supply you all with grace and much comfort. To all the grandchildren, as you sang give your self to love the Lord, we will go through things that seem we cannot bear anymore, but the Lord love is always there, we just talk to him as He is always waiting to hear from you. we love you all. Maybe one day soon we can do a zoom call! Ian & Patti Salamonson idsalamonson@gmail.com
