You were a wonderful friend, so full of fun and joy, we feel so privileged to have shared time with you and spent some very special times with you be that on motorcycles or under autumn leaves in Mace Town. You will be missed and we will be here to help support Reid when we can RIP Linda.
Linda's mum, Bev, and my mum, Olwyn, were best friends at school, and our families were much the same age. When we visited them in Invercargill I remember all the kids cramming into the back of their station wagon, off on another summer adventure. Years later, Linda took time out of her busy professional schedule to meet Mum and I at Dunedin airport while on transit to another business meeting, and she was so full of energy and enthusiasm as she chatted to "Aunty Olwyn" and me. It was a shock to hear of her passing, and as was said many times at Linda's funeral service, she was a wonderful woman of many talents with a kind heart and strong mind. We will miss her, and send condolences to Reid, his family, and all the Danen clan.
It was such a shock to learn of Linda's passing. You wouldn't come across a more positive, hardworking & dedicated person such as Linda. She will be deeply missed around the Ruapehu community. Sending love to her family and friends. Sam
Linda was such a special lady and one of our favourite customers going back almost 30 years. Linda was very organised, always had a smile no matter the weather or how hard the job she had been doing, and was a pleasure to get to know and do business with. We always had 100% confidence in recommending Linda and Reid to our other customers who needed property projects done, and invariably we would get lots of thanks from the customers we had recommended their services to. Our thoughts go to Reid and family at this time.
Linda I cannot tell you how very sad and shocked we were to hear of Linda’s passing. It seemed rather impossible as she was such a force of life; so strong and vibrant. What an incredible woman Linda was. Such a hard worker and mentor, she was thoughtful and kind and had a great sense of humor. It was wonderful getting to know her on her trips to Canada and our trips to New Zealand. I remember when Mum, Dad, Janette, David and I ( Auntie, Uncle and cousins) were visiting New Zealand years ago, and Linda traveled around with us for a few days showing us some of the North Island. We had a great time taking turns driving with her in her truck and freaking out a little at how fast she drove! She was a good driver, but what a speed demon! She was a lot of fun too; especially after partaking in a bit of wine. I remember having a laugh with her, when lying in the sun in Waitangi ( in our “togs”) we noticed that we were both as freckly as each other. We thought it was great knowing someone who looked so similar and felt so familiar. We will always remember our visits with her, here in Canada and there in New Zealand. She loved Canada and we all enjoyed showing her around Smithers, Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast; sharing meals, good wine, family stories, and lots of laughs. When mom and dad would go to New Zealand every year, Linda would drive an hour to the airport to pick them up, then drive them all the way back to her house before heading back again into the city to work. She was very generous and kind, having them stay with her and keeping their NZ car for them at her farm. She was lovely. I know she will always be loved and missed by her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace dear Linda. With much love, Cousin Lea and family, P
So very sad to learn of Linda,s sudden passing. Linda encompassed the very best of humanity being, kind, honest, loyal, funny, thoughtful, and incredibly hard working. I count myself blessed to have spent a little time with her here in Turangi. Heartfelt thoughts and Aroha to Reid and Linda,s family. Sherryll Worthington Turangi.
I was very saddened to hear of Linda’s passing, and my thoughts go out to you, Reid, and your family. Linda’s contribution to snow sports and the mountain clubs on Ruapehu has been huge, and her passing will be deeply felt by all those who she came into contact with over the years. I’d also like to extend sympathies on behalf of Arlberg Ski Club, where Linda was a member and served for a number of years on the committee.
Very sad to hear of Linda’s passing. We will never forget her kindness when we moved out to Kaukapakapa. She will be missed.
Always a helpful, kind loyal person, she will be missed on the mountain and at the club
