Only had pleasure of meeting Ken once but very memorable. I can still feel that massive hug now! Ken was so very good at keeping in touch by telephone on so many occasions and always so interesting to listen to and anxious to know how everyone was. What a smile, God Bless Ken, sweet dreams. Lots of love from Barbara , Jackie and Jo. Thinking of you Jean xxxx
I only met Ken once but we spoke on the phone regularly and sometimes Skype. Ken had a lovely personality, he was a kind and caring man. Sending love to his friends and family.
Uncle Ken I was his birthday present in Dec1937, he was just 12 and rather overwhelmed to meet his newly born niece ! We were there to support him during his schooldays, his long study times to achieve his masters ticket in the Merchant Navy. Then my sister and I were so excited to be bridesmaids when Ken and the most beautiful and lovely girlfriend Jean were married. Although they moved to New Zealand to live happily ever after and raise a wonderful loving family, we were always in contact and I even had luck to visit the family twice in NZ. So I now raise a glass to Uncle Ken to remember a very special man full of love and fun. God Bless xx

Very much enjoyed spending time with Uncle Ken during his visits to UK. Sadly, not seen for many years, but always recall his cheerful personality and interesting conversations. Condolences to Jean, Paul, Elise, Karen and all Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
To me the timespan of the large Sadler family is unusual and amazing. Uncle Ken marrying Auntie Jean the year I was born 71 years ago! I think this is also the year they left the UK? If I am also correct his niece Lorna was born 3 years before him? Regretfully I had very little contact whilst I was growing up - and yes Auntie Jean I have grown up!! I remember wearing some uniform which I believe was his (especially the hat) which resided in our dressing-up box at Hill House. Correct me if I am wrong. I remember a great time was had by all when they both came back to the UK for a holiday - late 1990's? Uncle Ken chauffeured Jean and my mum around in an old Volvo estate car we had at the time. How things have moved on as I recall Uncle Ken was amazed because it was quite unique in those days in having an early "car phone" fitted. He thoroughly enjoyed playing with it and we would receive regular calls keeping us up to date with their holiday progress/movements!! Of course the highlight was Dinie and I visiting New Zealand in 2015 and the wonderful hospitality shown to us staying in Masterton. I have treasured those few days and especially remember the lovely visit to the Rimutaka railway museum (Featherstone?). Uncle Ken and I really clicked on this subject and I still read and treasure the Rimutaka history book he purchased for me at the time . Past memories of a lovely Uncle. I will miss his cheery phone calls! Love to all. Nick and Dinie. XXX
