Tributes

Mark was a colleague and friend. We supported each other and I was blessed to know him. To Karen and family: Mark was real, a genuinely good person, who rattled cages to bring about change. I will miss our calls and WhatsApp chats. RIP comrade.

I've known Mark for 20-odd years through our mutual connection to fire brigades in New Zealand. I valued his counsel, his perspective, and his friendship throughout that time, as I served variously in Auckland and Wellington brigades as Operational Support - a part of FENZ that certainly has benefited from his skills and experience variously as a H&S expert, a Union rep, and a Firefighter. I always enjoyed seeing him at national events such as the United Fire Brigades Association annual conference. He's left us too soon, I will miss him greatly. I'm sorry I was unable to make it to Whangarei but I am watching the stream and thinking of him this day. Regards, Mark Foster Station Officer, Wellington Operational Support Unit, Kilbirnie Station, Wellington and formerly of Auckland Operational Support (previously Fire Police) Unit.

I will always remember the support Uncle Mark gave our family when we lost my brother Paul. He stayed with us through a diffcult time and showed us what a strong, caring family is all about. Love always Catherine and Steven
