My heart goes out to Jan, the children & grandkids. Although I have known Jan longer than Brian, he impressed me as a man who loved life, & especially Jan, their children, & grandchildren. He had a strong commitment to their family life, balancing it with the other important things in life, like golf & boating, fishing & having fun. He had strong principles & views which is admirable in the world we live in. Jan, I think of you a lot right now. Helen O

To my dear old mate Brian We met at high school when we were both in the 5th form and immediately become good friends probably because our birthdays were one day apart and our names the same except for the spelling. The two spellings.....mine with "Y" in the middle and his with "I" caused many laughs. In fact Brian said that mine with the"Y" was purely because "my oldies couldn't spell!" Sometimes over the years we didn"t see each other for long spells, but when we did the humour was never far away! In latter years we"d always met at Brian and Jan"s for our " Birthday Weekend" which usually coincided with a Rugby match and what bloody brilliant great weekends they were! Two days of constant laughter.....even our wives enjoyed it! So Brian mate, rest in peace sailing into the sunset. I'm truly honoured to have known you. Bryan and Dale Tobeck PS. Dale is already missing the scrabble games you both played on line together for many years. The last two partly played games ended on 26th July....Games over.

Dear Brian, The first time we visited You and Jan in Algies Bay, You took us us out on the Pacific Oscean. It was a lovely day. Andrew and Sofia dived and picked scallops. Later we caught some snappers. Back in Your house Jan learned Calle how to clean the scallops and later we had a lovely dinner. It will always be a dear memory ! Brian rest in peace. Dear Jan, we're so sad to see you lose your soulmate. Brian was a special person who loved his golf, and of course drinks with mates after the round. You have shown your love for Brian with the way you have cared and supported him this last year. I'm sure it meant so much to him that you made sure he met his friends at the golf club each week. Rest in peace, Brian, you will be missed.
