Aunty Viv, you were a presence and a force of nature. We will forever remember your humour and laughter. Go with love x Sarah

These things are never easy to do as many of the things I would like to say about Vivienne, I would have loved to have said to her when she was still with us. Vivienne or as we knew her, Mrs Ranga, and the whanau have been in our lives since I was 10 (I am now 42). Myself and my brothers all went to Swanson Primary after relocating from Te Atatu South. Unfortunately my brothers and Michael Ranga did not start off as friends, they pretty much hated each other and would fight constantly. My mum was always called to the office when one of these fights got out of hand and so was Mrs Ranga. I don't think my mum and Vivienne's initial encounters made them friends either, however that was what they became and have remained to this day. A random day after I had come home from high school, I was shocked to see my brother also called Michael, had invited Michael Ranga to our house. I asked Michael...."Arent we meant to hate him?" and he was like "Nah, we are mates now" and that is how its been with those 2 and also my mum and Vivienne ever since. Bit unconventional, swore enemies and then the best of friends. I know that Vivienne's passing has affected my mum quite deeply as she was a close and dear friend to her. It has also affected me as well. The Sunday just gone, marked 10 years since my father passed away and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss him and think of all the amazing things he has missed. I guess what I am saying is, its never easy loosing a parent and you will get moments where out of no where you will get hit by all this hurt and emotion but our parents legacy lives on, not just in us but in their grandchild and its up to us to keep their memory alive and speak about them often so our children can carry those memories for their children and so on. All my love to the whanau, you have been a stable constant in our lives and I just what to awhi you all. We are not friends, we are family and always will be
