Marion was the most giving and obliging person and David very generous and liked organising his wife! Their generosity with hosting parties at their Harper St residence with a huge fully catered do on their front lawn one Summer. David knew he didn’t have long to live. I knew Alan from our school years but got to know Marion through a coffee group of new Mums. Indeed Louise was born within an hour of our eldest son. Many gatherings , BBQs picnics happened through the coffee group connection and our kids. Friends of ours suddenly sold their house and were in an awkward spot regarding somewhere to live. David told Marion that friends of the de Veres are now friends of ours and they are coming to live with us for a wee while. (3 months) Dear Marion didn’t bat an eyelid ! Lastly, I had a carpet cleaning business and got into repairing carpets being taught stretching and heat bonding carpet through Marion’s friend Ian Cooper. However Marion taught me small fibre by fibre repairs which became quite a demand for and she kept busy doing this also. Such a sharing generous woman.
