Passed away peacefully on 16th September 2023, aged 90.
A loyal husband to the late Carol, much loved father of Rowan, Megan & Janet, father-in-law to Okusitino & Pete, and eccentric grandparent to Jess, Miko and Samantha. Former Chemistry Teacher at Pakuranga College and an avid tramper, with a zest for life and a scientific mind, always searching for answers. Let the next adventure begin.
Thank you to the staff at Waimarie Private Hospital who took such care of James during his final months.
There will be a Memorial Service held 2.30pm, Friday 22 September at Davis Funerals, 400 Dominion Road, Mt Eden.

Tributes
In the 1960's Jim and Carol joined me on a very exciting untracked crossing of the Raukumara Ranges (near East Cape) from Ruatoria to Te Kaha. This took eight days, including climbing a sharp peak of 1618 meters, swimming through a gorge, then following a route taken by Bishop Selwyn and the local Maori in 1841. My best Trek ever.
