Dr Te Kei O Te Waka Wilson Merito passed away 26th September 2023 at home in Rotorua, surrounded by his loving whanau. His darling wife Anne Marie Merito (nee Marcus) at his side. He was 89 years.

Koro Te Kei will remain in Rotorua for the night, before departing for Whakatane Wednesday afternoon.

WEDNESDAY 27/09/2023
Koro Te Kei will arrive to Te Pahou Marae at 3pm, where he will lie for one night in his tipuna whare Rangataua. (Ngati Pūkeko – Whakatikatika anō i a tātau)

THURSDAY 28/09/2023
Koro Te Kei will then be taken to Te Poroporo Marae at 9am, where he will lie in his tipuna whare Pukeko (Ngati Awa/Mataatua whānui, ki konei tātou whakaeke atu ai hei te Taite, kia ngātahi tā tātau noho ki te whakatau i ngā manuhiri tūārangi o tō tātau koroua)

FRIDAY 29/09/2023
Kei Te Poroporo Marae tonu a Koro Te Kei e takoto ana. Haere mai e ngā iwi o te motu, ki konei tātau tangi atu ai ki tō tātou mōrehu pakeke.

SATURDAY 30/09/2023
Te rā nehu o Koro Te Kei. Funeral service will be held on the marae at 10am, followed by a private cremation.
