Very fond memories of Charlie, from pony club tetrathlon teams and Edgeworth polo club . Star of a guy , such sad sad news. My heart is with his beautiful girls
So very sad to hear about Charlie. I worked with Charlie in Edgeworth, great times. We were so young and broke, but the memories I have are priceless. God speed Charlie!
Dear Yvette, Meika and Jess, I was so sorry to hear the news. Charlie was such a great person and a good friend to me in our younger days! So shocked and saddened to hear the news of Charlie’s untimely death. Thinking of you all today. Lots of fond childhood memories and a great catch-up a few years ago when the family were in UK. I know he loved New Zealand and was very happy there with his lovely family. Deepest sympathies to you all at such a difficult time and hope you will all make it to our part of the world again soon. Tim, Gaby and the family.

Dear Yvette, Meika and Jess (and Sally) I am so sorry to hear about Charlie. He was such a kind person and I know he will be so greatly missed. Thinking of you all as you navigate this difficult time. Love and best wishes, Christie xx (from Aflex)
Charlie was one of the kindest people Alex and I knew. He was also extremely loyal and caring, and for some years it seemed to us he missed out on opportunities for himself because of it... . So we were always pleased to hear his and the familys move to New Zealand was working well for them. it was always fun to chat and catch up on news, and we so thrilled they visited us when last in the UK. Charlie we miss you lots and wish we had more memories to make with you, but are grateful for the ones we shared. Lots of love and huge hugs for Yvette, Meika and Jae, you know where to find us if you need us! Take care of each other. Love Nick, Alex, Jack Tom and Tasha Xxxxx
Oh my dear Charlie… what can I say? Doing things your way as ever, but I’m going to guess this is a little too soon even for you! But what a legacy you leave us all! You and your beautiful girls have always been in my thoughts across the miles and I don’t think that will change even now you’re gone. You brought so much joy and love and kindness to this world and it will be a sorrier place without you. Your ‘wry’ smile is how you will remain alive in my head and heart! And I’m sure for many others too! Mum loved you and Jonathan so much and your mum and dad too. Dad was so so sad to hear you are gone. He sends his love to all and so would mum have done. If she could have she’d have been on the plane with Jonathan to come but as it is you are probably laughing and joking together wherever you are having a gin and a beer and doing what you did in life - bring love, joy and fun and kindness to us all. Rest well beautiful soul. Much love to Yvette, Meika & Jae and all the family. Chris, Amy, Kevin, Evie, Ben & William xx
Our deepest sympathies go out to the Newman family - Charlie & Yvette have been amazing neighbors & over the fence friends. If we can help with anything please Let me know. Regards Peter & Rachel
We know there are no words that can ease your pain, but just know that we'll always be there for you no matter what, and may your happy memories give you all some peace and comfort during this challenging time, With all our Love. Richard & Pat
