Funeral service held at Dil's Funeral Services

Tributes

I was shocked to hear of Donald’s passing. I am very sorry I missed the funeral. Jude, Ryan, Angela and Katherine, I extend to you all my deepest sympathy. Donald was a true gentleman and I valued our relationship which spanned many years at the Events Centre. A man of his word, and a man of great integrity. I do regret that your move to Hamilton/Raglan meant we lost contact, but I am grateful for the opportunities I did get to chat with Donald from time to time over recent years. RIP Donald

Sincere condolences Jude and family. We are sorry to hear of Donald's passing : he was a true gentleman and always made time to have a good conversation. His gift was one of respecting others+ making people feel better for being around him. Rest in peace dear Donald.

I will always remember Donald as my thoughtful, genuine and funny uncle and godfather. He was a great family man and I have shared many happy moments with him and his family particularly in Whangamata. We were sorry to have missed the funeral but very much appreciated having the opportunity to watch the funeral and read these lovely tributes. Sending all our love to Jude, Ange, Ryan & Kate xx

We will miss Donald. A controlled gentleman & my friend in the motel, and at golf, an inspiration as an achiever. So very sad to hear of his early departure - far too young & too soon, as we often spoke of catching up. He decided that I was not worthy of his squash skills - he was probably right - as his golf skill surpassed me and he would have run me around. He was a genuinely NICE GUY who often assisted us and any who sought his counsel. Jude, our sympathy to you and family at the loss of Donald.

Lloyd & Debbie

It was always a pleasure dealing and talking with Donald. He was very supportive of Harbour Basketball especially during the early days of the 90’s as the association was beginning to become a strong force. Always stopped to have a chat how it was all going and how the refereeing programme was developing.
