I am thinking back now to my second job after working for Telecom NZ and Tom was my boss. I had not started long when I had an accident driving his work vehicle. I called him up to report the incident, telling him I could only either go straight ahead at any intersection on my way back or turn left but no go turning to the right due to the right mudguard being damaged. On arrival, I thought I would be in for a right bollocking, but to my surprise, he just asked me to fill in the accident report and it was not mentioned again. A Good bloke indeed. My apologies to the Lock family, that I am not able to attend the service due to being overseas. RIP Tom.

My condolences to the Lock family. I remember babysitting Tom and Mary’s children when they lived in Christchurch. Tom was such a great father to his family and worked hard to provide Mary and the children with a good home. Well done for 94 good years!
