Funeral service held at Rowley's Funeral Services
Dear Menzies Family, So sad to see the passing of another icon in the family. The Menzies were a very big part of our wide family circle in Devonport. Always welcomed into their home in Seacliffe Ave . Well Uncle Peter, safe travelling and enjoy the new show with your beloved Jane Mary. Le do Slainte Mhaith. Rory Sheehan
Dear Peter, your Requiem Mass was beautiful and so suited for the humble faith filled life you have led. You and Jane Mary touched so many hearts with your unassuming caring ways . It seems strange that having known you for 86 years and Brick since you were both 18 that there is now a parting of the ways. Our families have followed each others over time and we have had much admiration for the astuteness Peter presented and the pride in the offspring who in numbers we did not quite match. The generosity that quietly you have shown to many, as individuals or collectively for a cause has been so blessed. And did we love the horse racing period. To all Peter’s family our love and sympathy, fond memories Jan.
I am very grateful to Peter and Jane-Mary for the incredible support that they both gave my mother, my siblings and myself throughout the years. A very strong guiding hand during my formative years. I have many fond memories of the great summers spent with all of our North Island cousins during the 70's. Nice to see many of you at the service which I have just viewed online. A man of great discipline and unwavering faith. I hope you got to where you wanted to be, Peter.
A great service for Uncle Peter. He has shown us what he believed in and valued. Well played. No marching bands or big ceremonies needed (although they can also be fun)
