Dear Graeme, Alison, Murray and Susan, I have just watched your mum's funeral - a beautiful service, I loved the weaving of all three generations, hearing about her early days working with biscuits and blankets, as a taylor and a tea lady. I laughed when one of the grankids read out all of her sayings, which I remember well. The only thing I thought was missing was no mention of her pikelets (with plenty of butter) which were always served up to Barb and I when we went around to play cards. But maybe the were our special treat (haha). I loved your Mum's big smile and laugh, the way she ribbed me about the way Aussie's played cricket and her love of sport. She was always so accepting, interested in what Barb and I were up to, and always up for a drive and an ice cream. I was pleased one time to be able to help her with her Ipad showing her how to save photos and take short cuts on Facebook. Pretty savvy for an ole girl! Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you all at this sad time from across the ditch. Enjoy having all of the family together as you celebrate and share fond memories of your mum. Love and thoughts Mercia xxx
