From Richard, Kimberley and Maree (children of Peter and Rachelle) We have such fond memories of Aunty June which date way back to our early years as young children. We had the pleasure of visiting Uncle Peter, Aunty June and the kids in school holidays, where we would make the big drive up from Napier to Titirangi on our way to a sailing adventure. One of our first memories is the distinct aroma of Titirangi (and it will never leave us). The fresh smell of the dense bush is the first thing we noticed as we drove into their driveway, with a welcome from Basil Brush the dog! Their home was always so warm and welcoming, June in particular made us feel so at home, and was always so generous and kind. We will always remember she would have a full bag of pick n mix lollies for us on arrival!! And – she always let us have as many as we could get away with. There was always loads of laughter in the home, it really was a home full of love. Aunty June was a beautiful mother and treasured her relationships with her children and grandchildren. George, Robbie and Louanna inherited many of June’s special traits, they were always so open, kind and friendly to us too. Aunty June was a true gem – she loved her family more than anything, and we were so lucky to be a part of it. We love you Aunty June xx
From Peter and Rachelle Clark Both Chelle and I wish to send our love and blessings to you and your family on the passing of June. We understand that she had many ups and downs in the recent weeks before she passed away. We of course understand that all of us are ageing in our latter years. We also remember what wonderful times we had with Peter, June and family, having many sailing trips and holidays together. June was a wonderful friend. God bless, Peter and Chelle xx
Remembering 45 years of our Special Friendship: The 5 years when we worked together at Woodlands Park Primary School - you as the Office Manager, Larraine as the Caretaker and I was responsible for the Grounds, Maintenance of the Swimming Pool and the dreaded Coal Bunker. The laughter and relief we later shared after I thought I had cracked the Headmistresses car window when I was shoveling the coal and a piece flew out the open bunker door and hit her car window only to be told later on that it had been cracked for some time. Our wonderful 4 hour lunch catchups, our long phone calls, Peter`s birthday when you were up at Snells Beach. So many special memories to always treasure. June you will forever in my heart . Lorraine Pirtle xx
