We were very pleased to be able to participate in the Celebration of Life for Veronique. It was a wonderful ceremony, with inspirational musical, tributes and Eulogy. Her life was one of giving of herself to care for others. Her talents will live on in the memories of all who loved her. We remember fondly her visit to London. Her closing words were always, Love, Light and Laughter and in Spirit World she will be doing just that. Rest in Peace dear Vero.

Dear Veronique, what an impact your loving presence has left in our hearts, mine and Issa's. Issa said, oh, she was so nice! For me, I remember your strong loving presence and songs at chopping time, your ability to say the opening prayers in French, my mother tongue and your beautiful and strong ability to be an anchor for the community. I would like to recite the invocation in French in memory of you in future camps - I would need your written words to do so though. So much Love to you from mine and Issa's heart.

Kia ora e hoa, What a shock to learn of your passing Veronique. I am sitting here wearing vivid orange as I remember you. You loved that colour, and all colours. We had such a time at Monty...mostly good with a little stress occasionally! I learned so much from you, te reo Maori, french, compassion, respect and love for family and others. You had a quiet strength in you. (sometimes not so quiet :)) I appreciated you welcoming me into your life and valued your friendship and collegiality. You had such love for your family, I know the only good thing about this is that you will be with your beloved Father. You spoke of him often. Go well e hoa (my friend) Kia kaha with love Libby

Veronique, I have such fond memories of your visits to London when I was young living with my parents. You had such a kind, friendly presence about you. Later in life my wife and I were particularly grateful for your heartfelt condolences when we lost our first child Sophia. Your organisation of support from family in NZ was a wonderful gesture which gave us strength during a very difficult time. Strength which enabled us to go on to have our healthy vibrant son Ethan who is now almost 3 years old. We send our deepest condolences to your family. May you rest in peace with the other angels. Sincerest regards, Peter and family.

Vero, we your family in Sydney will miss you very much. My only regret is that you haven't met my wife, Thilini and our newborn son, Leon. Thank you for your love, kindness and family oriented spirit. We can only imagine the shock, pain and sadness that your immediate family in New Zealand would be feeling. God bless and we pray you will be welcomed with open arms by your Dad at the gates of heaven. Olivier Rochecouste

We are deeply saddened to have learnt of the sudden passing of Véronique. Our fond memories of Véronique stretch back to when the Rochecouste family arrived in New Zealand in the mid-1960s. They almost doubled the Mauritian community here in Wellington and they became family. At the various ‘family’ celebrations and gatherings, Véronique constantly displayed a warm, vivacious, engaging and caring personality. Her concerns for others showed through at an early age and continued throughout her life. Véronique was always encouraging and always supported the people she knew to succeed in whatever they did. Véronique will live on in our heart and all the hearts of the people that she touched. Our thoughts are with Marie-Thérèse, Caroline, Francine, Sylvie, Bernadette and their families. Véronique - repose en paix. Jean-Michel and Catherine Kunz

Joelle ROCHECOUSTE & Jean NG-THUNE

Our dearest friend Veronique, It aches to know you were taken from us so suddenly, so early, on a Sunday that now feels forever altered. Your kindness was a quiet fire that warmed every life you touched, including ours. Since you’ve gone, the world seems a shade dimmer, the sky a little less bright without your radiant light. Rest now, dear friend, cradled in the love you always gave us. Our heartfelt condolences to your Mum, Sisters and family. Until we meet again. With love forever. Maree & Steve

Goodby Véronique, I have wonderful memories of you as a young child in Wellington, and even better memories of you as the fantastic woman you had become. Sadly the tyranny of distance kept us apart over the years. God bless you and RIP
