Passed away peacefully at home on 29 September 2025, aged 91 years. Youngest son of the late Jessie and Gordon Wilson, and loved brother to Ann (Glendowie), and the late Peter, Douglas and Lindsay. Devoted and much-loved husband of Jean- Marie for 65 years. Beloved father to Fiona, Brian and Jillian, Madeleine, Barbara and Dean, and Owen. Inspiring grandfather to Sonya, John- Henry, Katherine, Samuel, Peter, Stephen, David, Joseph, Rachel, and Abigail Wilson; Daniel, Jessica, and Charlotte Williamson; and delighted great-grandfather of Lillian. Respected brother-in-law and uncle to Wilson, Stewart, and Matheson families. Grateful thanks to cardiologists Jim Stewart and Tom Pasley, Dr Donna Lahood and the team at Elstree Family Drs for their long-term care of John. Vive in luce. Rosary service will be held at St Pius X Church,101 Castledine Crescent, Glen Innes on Monday 6 October at 7:30pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Pius X Church, on Tuesday 7 October at 10:30am. Donations to the Auckland City Mission would be appreciated.
