I first met Mairi at the BOP Polytechnic. I worked as Support Secretary to the Business Studies Dept of which Mairi was a tutor & eventually my Team Leader. We became great friends & great support for each other over those years. I moved to Australia after my partner died, and although we didnt see each other much, the bond was there & always made time to get together on my visits back to NZ. Lots of wine, good food & solving the problems of the world. Great times. I came back to NZ eventually & Mairi had moved to Hamilton. Met Jim & was so happy. I couldn't have wished for anything better for her. They were made for each other. Thank you Jim, for loving my friend. I have regrets in not keeping in touch as much as we could have but sometimes life just keeps getting in the way. No excuse but Mairi, just know I loved you & you were always popping into my head at the oddest of times. I loved those moments! Fly free my lovely lady xxxx
