Farewell Bonnie Johnie, we knew you were always just a phone call away and just around the corner! Thanks for the fun times we had since 1983… good times with and because of you! You knew ‘when to hold em, when to fold em, when to walk away and… ‘ Kenny and Elvis are up there waiting, so have a good knees up! In the words of one of your favourites… the great Lionel Ritchie… ‘ sail on’ big boy… you will ‘truely’ be missed. Our condolences and love to all.

John and I shared a long and important part of our lives together. I was John’s first and only wife. We married on his 20th birthday, and together we had three children and built a life full of memories. Boating was a huge part of those early years and brought us many adventures. Then came motocross and racing — always something happening, always something being built, fixed, raced or planned. And then there was work. John was a worker through and through. Work, work, work was very much the story of his life. My mum played a part in helping him get his contracting career started, and from there he worked incredibly hard to build the life and business that followed. Our lives eventually took different paths, but nothing can change the years we shared, the family we created, or the history that belongs to us. There is something very fitting, and for me particularly poignant, about saying goodbye to John on 23 August 2026 — his birthday. I married him on his birthday all those years ago. And now, on his birthday, I say goodbye. Rest easy, John. What a journey it has been.
