"With deep sadness, we learned of the passing of Nionios. Looking back at the years of our youth, Nionios was a true pillar of our community. He gave so much of his time, energy, and heart. He will be missed so much by all of us. Every single year, his big dream and hope was to come back for the summer to our beloved Ithaca. I have so many beautiful memories from my childhood, seeing him here every year and sharing meals at his house together with Dimitra. He had a deep, true love for my grandfather, Vangelis. They shared a special bond, and we take comfort in knowing that they are now reunited up there, mazi ekei psila. We truly wish we could be there with you right now during this difficult time. My condolences to the family. Am overseas and am sorry that I will miss the funeral. Dennis was truly fantastic with people — always warm, respectful, and reliable in everything he did. A real gentleman in every sense, he earned the admiration and respect of everyone around him. His presence brought a sense of calm and kindness . He will be greatly missed.

May I be the first to convey my sincere condolences to Dimitra and family. Dionisis was a very dear friend of Dimitri and myself for many years as was his family. Lots of laughter and great goings on with witty sketches are not forgotten. He served the community for many years. He was a great friend of Dimitri helping with the choir at times too.
