Petrus Nicolaas ROMIJN

Petrus Nicolaas ROMIJN (Piet or Peter), 96, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Sunday, 5 July in Waikanae.

Petrus was the sixth of nine children born to Martinus and Marie in Lisse in the Netherlands. He is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Cornelia (Corry), his son, Simon and his wife, Jane, and their children, Frederica and Dominique and his son, Paulus and his partner, Stella and their children, Jacob and Maria.

He is also survived by his youngest brother, Leo and his wife, Truus, his sister-in-law, Annie and his family around the world. Petrus was close to his six nephews in New Zealand: Maarten, Michael, John, Robert, Richard and Kevin and their deceased mother, Helena.

The celebration of Petrus’ life will be held at the Cedarwood Chapel (Waikanae Funeral Home), 17-21 Parata Street, Waikanae on Thursday, 9 July at 2:00 pm.
