Tributes

Tribute to Rod Some friendships from school mellow over time, but Rod's never did. My memories are loud and clear and slightly ridiculous albeit in the best possible way. One memory that comes to mind is when the three of us, me in the middle, Rod driving and Al on my left wedged in the Thames van with the gear stick between my legs. The van had no safety features, so we ended up coordinating the clutch, gear positions and blind optimism to keep going to the next party. Rod thought it was hilarious and said, "This is completely mad but what a story it will make". And he was right. It still makes me laugh. Our trip to Queenstown had many moments that Rod could turn into memories with his humour and mischief that you remember for decades. Losing Rod feels like losing that youthful chaos when life was simpler, sillier and full of characters who shape who we become. Rod, you were a great friend: funny, loyal and always up for an adventure. You will be remembered with sadness, affection, smiles and laughter. Our condolences and deepest sympathy to Juliet and family. Murray and Jo Linfoot
