It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Marika (Mary) Tsavdaridis on Sunday, 28th June, at Wellington Hospital, aged 94 years.
Beloved wife of the late Vasili, loving mother and mother-in-law of Tony, Helen, and Amalia, Treasured yiayia of Anthony, Trey, Maria, Dustin, Vasilaki, Nicolaki, and Iraklis. Devoted big yiayia of Elena and Andonaki.
Special thanks to the staff at Rita Angus and Wellington Hospital for their amazing support, care and respect shown to Marika.
Marika's funeral service will be held at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral O Evangelismos tis Theotokou, 3 Hania Street, Mt Victoria, on Thursday, 2nd July at 10.00am, thereafter interment at Mākara Cemetery.
Donations to the Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated and may be left at the church.
Light refreshments will be served upstairs at the Greek Hall following the burial at Mākara Cemetery.

Dear Elenaki and Anthony, & Family I wanted to reach out and share that I have such fond memories of your Mum and Dad from when they lived on Willis Street. Your Mother used to cut my hair when I was a child, and I always admired how she was constantly so well-groomed and always greeting everyone with a smile. Unfortunately, as we get older, we all get so busy in our lives, but those memories stay with us. She was so clean and fussy in the house, just as the boys mentioned in their speech. Her house was absolutely immaculate, but so was she. She truly was an inspiration for being so beautifully presented. When I visited her at Rita Angus, I just couldn’t believe her perfectly manicured fingernails—she never lost her touch. The boys speeches were very touching. May she rest in peace.
