I met Patrick in 2017, not long after my two kids and I moved into a house nearby. I'd knocked on his door asking if I could pick a lemon from his tree and it started a lovely neighbourly friendship that lasted until his recent death. We shared a love of electronics and photography and many times I popped over for a chat (and sometimes a lemon or three). He was such a lovely man. He spoke fondly of his late wife and I was sad I'd never had the chance to meet her. This friendship with Patrick helped me though a tough patch in my life, despite us not really talking about what was going on with that. I think he knew how much I appreciated just being able to chat. More recently I introduced my lovely partner to him and we had a cup of tea in his living room surrounded by the things that showed he'd had a good life. I've not met any of his family, but I would like them to know that I will not forget Patrick.
