Anna was my bonus nana. We couldn't have asked for better neighbours. I am so lucky to have known this precious woman my entire life, to have grown up with her kindness and warmth, always opening her home to me, my family and friends. As a child, I'd just randomly pop over with my best friend and we'd be invited in for a chat over lemonade and biscuits and sent off with lollies to share with our sisters. My family spent Christmas mornings with Anna and Bill, sharing food and gifts, and enjoying one another's company. As an adult, I returned to my childhood home and spent four years there with my son Jackson, who developed a close bond with Anna especially, and who was devastated to learn of her passing. Jackson would play in the backyard and have chats with Anna across the fence - both too short to see one another. Almost always he'd run inside with a chocolate bar in hand, after she'd thrown it to him over the fence 😅. In recent years I've cherished the times we caught up, usually at a cafe with my mum, Theresa and Cheryl, and sometimes with my boys too - Jackson now towering over Anna. Anna was always the best dressed! I am so grateful to have had Anna in my life, to have experienced her kindness, warmth and generosity, and I am so pleased I got to dance with her at her 96th birthday. What a long life she had! I will miss you, Anna 💜.

I was very lucky to grow up in the house next door to Anna and Bill. I have so many treasured memories of seeing Anna's head over the backyard fence - always with a warm and friendly smile and also of the many lovely visits and time spent together over the years. Anna was such a special, kind and beautiful person and a wonderful neighbour - my family was blessed to know her. My thoughts are with Anna's family at this time.

Anna, what a very special friend. Thank you for your kindness, your laughter, your warmth. You were a special neighbour to my girls who came home with a peppermint or a gold coin in their wee hands. Then our first grandson, now 11, constantly reminds me he knows the worlds best neighbour - such delight when he heard his name called out over the fence, followed by a bar of chocolate flying through the air. You taught me how to make chop suey. You were always there to help me. Then in these latter years we became even closer friends. I loved hearing your stories. I will miss you dearly. I was lucky to have a couple of special visits only a couple of weeks ago - wow you still had better hearing and eyesight than me, and your memory was as sharp as ever. But goodbyes have to happen sometime. Your time to rest beautiful lady. Much love.

It was such a privilege to care for such a beautiful lady over the past five months. I feel incredibly grateful to have been a small part of her journey. Caring for her was never just a job - it was an honour. Rest peacefully Anna, you will be deeply missed.

Anna Maloney was the matriarch of our Passi family here in Auckland, and we give thanks for the blessing her long life has been on us all. Anna was the definition of light in life. Coming to New Zealand to see family is so special to us and the Maloney’s are our family. Anna always made us feel so welcome, whether it was an Easter Egg Hunt, a cheeky drink, stories about our Dad, showing us photographs, giving us special momentos or just welcoming us into her home for a catch up and a hug. We feel so blessed to have had her in our lives. We are sending all our love to the Maloney’s from England ❤️

What a wonderful lady. So kind funny and astute always so kind hearted and generous. Anna always had time to share memories and make you smile. So very proud to have known her and shared her love and her wonderful stories. She leaves behind an amazing legacy with bill, Theresa, mark, Sian and will.

RIP Anna, a dear and much-loved friend of the late Gloria and George Michel and family. Always remembered by Peter Michel who all his life had known Anna and her late husband Bill and had the great pleasure of reconnecting with them when he worked in Belmont in 2007 and later when George died in 2011.
