Kāren's celebration of life yesterday was a beautiful way to celebrate Kāren and be reminded of what a beautiful person she was and the life she lived. Kāren mentored me when I arrived in C16 back in 2013 and then she again supported me when I joined the IY team in 2016. She was so passionate and dedicated about our role in supporting students, teachers and their whānau. I learned so much from her along the way. Thinking of you all as you navigate life without her. We will miss her at our IY catch ups. Lots of love xx
Sending lots of love to the whanau and Michelle. Karen was such a special person and was totally committed to the children, families and colleagues that she worked with. She was a valued member of NZEI Te Riu Roa and I am so grateful for the many memories that I have of working alongside her. Arohanui 💕
Sending lots o love from the far north. So sad to hear the news of your passing. Rest in Love Karen. Love T-Lee
He mihi aroha Ngā whanau Karen Thinking of the whanau today Deepest condolences
I am so sorry to hear of Karen's passing. I knew Karen via NZEI Te Riu Roa as we were both part of the Waikato NZEI Area Council. Apart from those weekend meetings, we both attended many Annual Meetings/Hui-a-Tau for NZEI where we worked hard, but also socialised in the best way. I was also lucky to have Karen as one of my Incredible Years tutors - she really was a passionate RTLB, wanting the best for teachers and students in the learning journey. Karen always spoke with pride about her grandchildren and the time she cherished with them. Aroha mai to to her whanau, who will miss her so so much. Aroha mai to my friend Michelle, who will also have a huge hole in her heart and life. Thank you for the live stream today.
Sending lots of loving thoughts your way. From the Deep South - we were lucky enough that Karen and Michelle spent time with us down here. Such fab memories xxxx
