HIBBERT, Valerie - On Saturday 13 June 2026, at Te Hopai Hospital, aged 81 years.
Dearly loved Mum and Mum-in-law of Julia and Evan.
Most devoted Nana of Georgia.
Manchester City FC’s most loyal supporter.
Mum to many fur-babies over the years including Ruby, Toby, Wee-one, Habby and Mr Red.
Much loved by her wider family, dear friends and community.
Special thanks to the people of Te Hopai Hospital for their care and support of Valerie.
In lieu of flowers and cards, donations to Te Hopai or the SPCA are appreciated and can be made online.
As per Val’s wishes, a private family service and cremation was held. Julia will provide details of a gathering to celebrate Val’s life at a later date.

I came upon this notice by accident - and I know nothing happens by accident. I had the absolute privilege of knowing Val over a number of decades and always found her to be forthright, friendly and warm with a wonderful wit and a fabulously cheeky grin to match. She was a faithful friend to those of us in the south (going back to the "central" days) and will be missed by a great many of us. Thank you for your input, lovely lady.
Dear Val, the most generous, kind, humorous and straight talker I have ever worked with. Clever, organised and a great listener. Thank you Val for your company at work and your patience teaching Chris and I the bagpipes!!! Rest in peace.
