Aunty Bella & Family, My heart sank learning the news of your passing. I was only speaking to my husband a few short weeks ago of the incredible programs you designed and led and how much of an inspiration you were to me. I was blessed to meet you through Gagau and I’m holding you all in my heart and sending so much love. Fly high Aunty Bella ❤️❤️❤️
My heartfelt condolences to all the whanau with the passing of your/our Bella. She was one of a kind, a person who gave her all for her family and friends alike. Oh cuz, I still can't believe you've gone over to the other side to be with your soulmate Norm. When you called me a few days before your passing and we spoke about impacting people in our lives and doing the best we can for them, whether it was family, friends or anyone we had the pleasure of meeting. You were one of a kind my cuz. You were the best in every sense of the word. I will love and miss you forever. PS: Don't think I'll be with you any time soon cuz. I'm going to live for as long as I am able 😥♥️🤗
Condolences to the whole family. Even though it had been years since I'd seen you. I have a lot of core childhood memories that include you. Like you coming to visit us down here in chch... teaching me how to play basketball, which meant a lot since i was an only child. And you inviting us up to stay with you in your (what seemed like it back then when I was a kid) mansion. Love you. Will miss you.
I was deeply saddened to hear of Bella’s passing this morning. Bella was one of those rare people whose warmth, wisdom, humour, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. I first met her when she worked alongside us in netball, sharing her considerable knowledge and passion for culture. She was an exceptional facilitator, a trusted colleague, and a genuine friend to many. Over the years, I would often stop in Ōtaki for a coffee and a chat with Bella while travelling between Palmerston North and Wellington. Those conversations were always thoughtful, insightful, and filled with laughter. Even through difficult times, including the loss of her beloved husband Norm, Bella remained welcoming, compassionate, and deeply interested in others. The world is undoubtedly a poorer place without her presence, but richer for the impact she had on so many lives. Thank you, Bella, for your wisdom, kindness, friendship, and the difference you made. You will be greatly missed.
Dearest cousin Bella, I remember you as a bubbly and caring well connected Whanau member. Thank you for your visits to my Nana when visiting Rotorua and sending love to your sister too. Rest in peace beautiful lady Ofa atu Aleisha Easthope-Stevens (Marietta Leger's Grand daughter).
Bella, You have left us to be with Norm again and I know you will be in your happy place back with him. Many things you taught me in life has kept my back bone strong and to look for the positive in everything. Your training and generosity was a gift to me and being in your company was always fun. Always giving people time to chat and you listening by their side until they come to their own conclusion teaches everyone something. RIL Bella and say Hi to mum for me. Love Hayley, Chris, Eve and Ana xx
Bella, I was such a green kid in the workforce when I joined the team at DOC, between you and Fran you both helped shaped my career by giving me a good foundation. Years later when I saw you in London from the top of a double decker and I yelled out your name - which meant you won the bet, or lost it I can’t remember that you had with Gagau &Sose to be recognised on the other side of the world. And then there was Paris with Fran and your sisters. Great memories. You were the perfect balance of fun and seriousness like an older sister. Gone too soon, find your mate and have the best cocktails that heaven can provide. Rest in Love xx
Condolences to all the family .Thank you Bella for all you taught me . I am forever grateful for the times we shared. Those memories I hold in my heart . Rest in peace my friend .
Deepest condolences on the loss of Bella. Far too young, warmly remembered and send lots of love to the family.
Isa Bella, Saddened to learn of your passing, a beautiful selfless soul with a big Pacific heart (quick to remind us of her Royal Samoan heritage!). Met Bella in her capacity as a life coach and consultant for our Fiji team. More than a leader she was a mum and guardian who made room at her home for us to stay whilst on work travel! mada vakalailai & A’u’ua e furmaria on Aitu. May your legacy of love and kindness bring comfort to the family during this difficult time.
RIP Bella, you will be greatly missed. I will always remember your wonderful sense of humour and wise advice. Mario
Thank you, Bella, for being such an inspiration. Your warmth, kindness and genuine care for people have touched so many lives. You saw potential in many long before we saw it in ourselves . Your words of encouragement, guidance and unwavering support went far beyond the role of a facilitator, they came from the heart of a true friend. I will always fondly remember our short stay at your beautiful home in New Zealand, especially the laughter and your determined efforts to keep 2 Fijians warm. Thank you for sharing your light so generously with the world. It has made a lasting difference to so many, including me. Love, Irene
