TILLETT, Alan Rex
June 21, 1942 – June 4, 2026.
Alan went out exactly how he would have wanted: suddenly and with lots of attention, following a heart attack while on a community stroll. Remembered with affection by Frances and Maureen. Much loved father of Josinta, Anna, Emily, and Mark, and loving father-in-law to Mike; proud Grandad to Rikiana, Chloe, and Charlie.
A service to honour and celebrate Alan's life will be held in The North Harbour Chapel of Dil's Funeral Services, 185 Schnapper Rock Rd, Albany on Friday 12 June at 2.30 pm.

What a great loss of a wonderful man. I was lucky enough to meet Alan through my friendship with one of his beautiful daughters. I was blessed to have had some fabulous conversations with him, moist recently when I was last in NZ earlier this year. Alan was incredibly kind hearted, warm and welcoming, His smile, genuine care, amazing conversations and authentic nature will stay in my heart forever. Sending loads of love to his family and friends who will be struggling with his passing.
A true gentleman, always respectful and respected. We’ll miss you, Alan. Much love to your family….
During the war he was evacuated from home. A tiny tot with boxed gas mask hanging from his neck. His independence and the excitement of travel was perhaps borne in him at that time. In 1961 with much enthusiasm he took a £10 journey even further from home, this time to the other side of the world. This trip in turn resulted in a fulfilling life. Life of course always comes to an end. The May Fly has but only one day, for us it's four score years and ten. He did well. Alas for us he is no longer here. he's off already on his next journey. His destination is where we will meet him one day.
