Tributes

Sadly I only met David twice when he and Evelyn visited my home here in Scotland. Evelyn being my oldest and dearest friend from childhood. I struggled a bit with his accent as I'm sure he struggled with mine. I may only have met him briefly but his kindness and character shone through. I have a fond memory of him having a little nap on my couch allowing Evelyn and I to blether away nicely. Thank you for that memory David. Enjoy the beauty that Heaven holds............

Big hugs all round! Hard to accept but Never give up on the faith God has placed in your hearts. It's true- Love never ends.

David also spoke fondly about his family, and so as a result I feel I know you all better than I actually do, when many of us haven't even met. I felt this was such a lovely side to David, his care and love for people. And his 'gift' of always making everyone feel special in their own right.

I spent time with David between least 2012 and 2019, when David was, to me, a valued and cherished boss/mentor, friend and father-like figure. I met David in his role as Team Leader Streetlights as a consultant; and later moved to contracting to A.T in support of their LED streetlights project . My enduring memories of David, is that he was always warm and caring, quick with a smile and a cheeky chuckle.. and ready to offer his time and guidance. I fondly recall sitting over a flat white (tea for me) to chat about streetlighting and also hearing stories from his childhood in the South Island, radio enthusiasm (and purchases and restoration of old radios).. and countless hours of knowledge of electrical engineering. I am grateful we met again, for the last time, when he was about to 'retire' and embark on a European trip early in 2023. Now I humbly pray for blessings over David's family at this sad and difficult time. People are so special, when they leave, they leave a hole. May memories of the life David shared with each of us, live on in our hearts.
