I’m sorry that I couldn’t be with you all, today, for Alastair’s final farewell, but I’m so pleased that I was able to see him, in person, very recently. Thank you, Cathy, for allowing me to share time with Al and to share memories. Al was a very special man and there are many of us who will miss him. My deepest sympathies to Cathy, James & Sam and to the extended family & friends. Love to all, Evan.
It was a privilege to have known Al since the early 1980s. He was a dear friend and a gentleman. I am sorry that I won't be able to attend your funeral today, Al, but a group of us are meeting in Wellington for lunch and we will fondly remember. One last glass my friend, santé! Vince
Memories of Al at NPPS working in the same team. A warm, caring epitome of a true gentleman who spiced our challenging times with appropriate humour and support. You have left footprints in memories for many people - thank you. Will also never forget your recycling ideas and your fab Black Forest Gateau. Blessings and love to Cathy, James, Sam and all who are special to you.
We shall miss you Al. A great guy…always fun to be around and an absolute gentleman. They don’t make many like Al. Best wishes and condolences to the family.
Dear Cathy, sending many hugs, love and peace. Remembering you and Al with much joy from our younger says. Jeanine Gribbin
To Cathy, James & Sam it was a real shock to hear of Alastair's passing. Alastair was my Secretary when I was Station Manager of New Plymouth Power Station from 1987 to 1990. The last time I met him was at the Power Station reunion in 2023. He was a superb help to me and became a special friend to both Shona and I. Gary & Shona Campbell
So sorry to read of Al's passing Cathy. My thoughts are with you, the boys and Joan at this time of great loss - taken far too soon. Love Helen.
Dear Cathy, it is a long time since we last saw you, but Barry and I fondly remember the friendship we enjoyed with you and Al in our “library years”. We are so sorry that you, James and Sam must now farewell Al, your much loved husband and father.
