BATES, Terry George.

Slipped away in the early hours of Tuesday 3 March 2026, aged 72. Leaving his great love and best friend of 56 years, Jennifer, after a long dance with leukaemia. Greatly admired Dad to Georgia and Jessica and their partners Brad and Ellie. Adored and loving ‘Dah’ of Ophelia, Oliver, Wolver and Wilder. Brother to the late Sandy and proud son of the late Stewart and Norma. An innovative educator, Terry gave his service generously to education, the arts, maritime and community-based organisations in both the public and private sectors.

A service to farewell Terry will be held at Wakatere Boat Club, at Narrowneck Beach at 2.00pm on Monday 9 March 2026. We invite you to join us to support his family and celebrate his life.
