Farewell Andy, always remembered as a great neighbour & friend from all those years ago. My love & condolences to Thelma & all the family.
I first met my good friend Andy in 1963 a mate and myself had just come down from Scotland at that time Andy was running the Forresters Arms football team we met Andy signed for the team and tad was the start of a great friendship Andys brother John played for the team also him and I became great pals for years infact I knew all the Wafer family i d often meet John at their house in Stockwood cres.where I got to know their mother and often have the craic with Duddly Buttler.they were special times Andy was also a great Glasgow Celtic man which I must admit went down well with me any time we had a get together I dread of .with all the Celtic songs with a few rebels thrown in for good measure it wasn't long before we had all the team supporting Celtic.Andy was a great linesman for us at the football but if he got shouted a.t by the opposition the flag would get thrown down and the chubby fists closed end of discussion and we d wait in the dressing room for him to let us know who was boss.I feel blessed that I knew Andy and Thelma their family and all the Wafer family.I will be with you ask in spirit at his funeral praying for Andy and all of you there God bless you all.My memories of a all the Wafer family could fill a book love you all.Rest in Peace good friend Andy.🙏💚🍀🇮🇪

It was always a pleasure to meet and talk football with you. Just hope they are all Manchester United fans in heaven. If they are all Liverpool fans you have gone to hell. Rest in peace.
Have wonderful memories of Andy during my time in New Zealand
Just a few words for a wonderful man. My Grandad. I did not know you for long but I am so thankful that I finally met you. You lived up to my expectations and more. You and the rest of the family welcomed us with open arms at the airport nearly three years ago. We have all felt complete ever since. Your smile will live with me forever. Sleep Tight grandad. Love Alan. Xxxx
You were a clever, insightful wonderful Uncle who shared with me the most memorable (and definitely most intelligent) St Patrick’s Day discussions. We would speak of writers and poets, history and politics, you would sing the songs and take the time to explain what every word meant - I knew the books, but not like you could share them. I learnt so much from you and will hold that all so dear. You had the true soul of an Irish storyteller. I’m so sorry I didn’t get a last chance to say goodbye. You will be missed. Lots of love and Rest in Peace Uncle Andy.
To my Uncle Andy the world feels a little quieter already. He was one of the smartest men I knew, the biggest football fan I’ve ever met, and the soul of our huge family. He loved a good laugh, a sharp conversation, and a cold drink. Rest easy, Uncle Andy.
