Bob, what a lovely gentleman! We will miss your smile and rye sense of humour. There was a lot going on behind those twinkly eyes! Another mighty Totara has quietly fallen. Rest in Peace.
Bob was a beautiful presence in our Choir, had the most beautiful voice, and was great to be around. You will be much missed at rehearsal, and I hope your family and friends are doing well during this difficult time. Lots of love, Sam
Bob - who could always spell his name backwards (all Brooklyn scouts will know his joke!) - a true stalwart of Brooklyn scouting. A traditional leader, respected by all over many many years. A true legend who always had a story to tell around the camp fire and above all, I will forever remember his knots - a man always building from first principles. He will be truly missed. Mark
Dear Bob you were so liked by your fellow naughty base singers. Great to see you at the Christmas party and that you were as always smiling with a grin that made us chat back. I had no idea that you had reached a superior age. Let's face it you sang like you were always young at heart. I will miss you and so will light a candle in your honor. Everybody else is going to miss you. There are not just base singers in the choir but of course we are the ones that provide the rhythm and give the song gravitas. You certainly showed us how it could be done. Much love to those grieving for you. Good luck in heaven. Probably even more choirs.
My commiserations and best wishes to Bob's family and friends. I remember Bob from his years in Parliament where we both worked. I required his assistance on several occasions with IT issues. I found him to be very methodical, calm and helpful. His disposition and presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and interacted with him
It was so nice to see that Bob. was active to the last and he had attended the Brooklyn Community Centre's "Friday Circle," most weeks in latter years, including the 2025 Christmas luncheon, held prior to his sudden passing, which was sadly the last time we all saw him He was a long time Brooklyn resident and I knew Linda, and Bob. from back in the days, when they were both greatly contributing to the Community and St,,Matthew's church congregation. Bob. was a Scout Leader and teacher and my own son, Jeff. was in his troupe, including the many camps that the Leaders, Scouts, Venturers,. and parents helped fund raise for. We shall keep fond memories of those times and adventures. I am sending much sympathy to his family in their sad loss of Bob.
