Tributes

We met Hughi as we fondly called him in London UK in 1986. We all shared some great times & met some interesting people along the way. When we traveled back home to Brisbane Australia we were once reunited when he followed a short time later. Hughi gave us a stainless steel colander to use in the kitchen which we still use to this day, he obviously thought our old plastic one wasn't good enough haha. Once he returned to NZ we caught up with him when he was living in Christchurch. He was a big man with a big heart & certainly liked to be heard even if it was bollocks. We still can't believe he has left us all. Wish we could've been there today to say our farewells. Our heartfelt thoughts & prayers are with Debbie, Victoria & family. xx

We met Hughi as we fondly called him in London in 1986. We Shared some good times in the UK & he eventually made his way back to Brisbane, AUS where we reunited once again. He was a top bloke with an infectious personality. We caught up with him in Christchurch many years ago. He was a big man with a big heart ❤️. Left this place too early. Can’t believe he has gone. Sending heartfelt thoughts & prayers to Debbie, Victoria & family 💕

Diane, Dave & Family

Hugh was both a workmate of Doug's and a good friend to us both during his time in Christchurch. He was always larger than life and an amazing cook and I think the only peron who has every used the stove in my brother's place where he flatted for a while before returning to Invercargill. Our thoughts are with Debbie and all the family.

I flatted with Hugh in Condell Ave in the mid 80's before he left for his OE. He was working for the CCC then & always had plenty of friends around. Remember him as a very jovial chap with a tremendous appetite. It was good fun. I often wondered what had become of Hugh. Condolences to the family. RIP Hugh

I remember Hugh as a child when my Great Uncle Walter and Great Aunt Elizabeth lived in Innes Road. Amazing to see family resemblance in the lovely photograph of Hugh. My Grandfather was Arthur. Our thoughts are with you all xxx

I went to school with Hughs brother Richard and high was a year or so behind us. I remember him as a kind lovely bloke. So shocked to hear of Hughs passing. My sympathies to all the Ollivier family.
