So sorry to hear of your loss. What a great innings Aunty Alma had! I have delightful memories of her gardens. Also her assistance in caring for my grandparents (Kathleen & Arthur) before they went to resthome. She then became my elder presence, and we enjoyed many a cup of tea at her Belt Road unit. My thoughts are with you all today Kindest regards Crystal Wicksteed (Lance's daughter)
I was shocked to see Alma's death notice yesterday. She was in the bed opposite my mother for maybe three weeks and seemed in reasonable health. I was not aware of her age, which she certainly didn't show! She was a lovely woman and we had a few nice chats. My love and condolences to you Neil and Jenny and the rest of your family.
We were very sorry to hear of Alma’s passing. Paul has fond memories of his times on the Sorenson farm in his student days, and later on he took his whole family to visit. We had lots of fun. We were delighted to find many years later that one of our co-travellers on a recent tour of the UK lived in the same retirement village as Alma and even more pleased to hear from our mutual friend that Alma had not forgotten us. Please extend our condolences to the whole family but particularly to Neil and Jenny.
Aunty Alma and Uncle Alec were always so much fun to visit as I was growing up, I recall Aunty Alma's distinctive voice as she called out her arrival at Grandma's (Kathleen). My Dad (Lance) was her god son and I know he enjoyed a special relationship with her throughout his life, especially during his childhood and before he settled into raising his own family when he shared many of the same social occasions as the Sorrenson clan. When he was a child Alma organised a professional photo of Dad which had pride of place in Grandma's sitting room. I will be thinking of you all tomorrow as you celebrate Alma's long life. Warm regards Jan Wicksteed
