Dear Rosemary and Family So sorry to hear the sad news. Thinking of you all and of what an amazing life Joe has had. Our families go back a long way and Joe has been a big part of the memories and common bonds of our families. We all remember many interesting conversations with Joe who was a very gentle and exceptionally nice and genuine person. Our thoughts are with you all, Judy, John and Joan Waldvogel.
We acknowledge the passing of yet another staunch supporter of Catholic Education in Taranaki. It has been our privilege to have spent time working with members of the extended family of whom Joe and Rosemarie could justifiably be very proud. May you all be at peace during this time of transition. Graeme and Mary 16 August 2018
Life is short – too short to muck around. The blossoms bloom in spring and wither in winter. I once knew a person who was old and frail but took life as a gift. He wouldn’t give up in the hardest of times. He is hurting at the moment and will leave us soon. I hope God accepts him. Bless all of you. Amen Spontaneously written by Jean Smiley, Great Grandaughter (age 9) on seeing Joe 3 days before he died.
