Dear Thelma. My thoughts to you and the family. Malcolm was a large presence in our family and particularly my young life. He was our big brother when as a young man he worked for mum and dad so it also feels to me like losing part of my family. His generosity, laughter and infectious spirit will always stay with me. Love Bruce

Very sad to hear of the passing of Malcolm. ⁣His cousin, (My Mother) was also sadended as she had a long history with Malcolm going back to Northern Ireland. When my parents were married in New Zealand a 20 year old Malcolm was the only family member from my Mothers side able to attend and was the one who gave her away. My parents thought so much of him they named their firstborn (myself) after him. It was always good to spend time with him as he was always positive and happy. I remember visiting in Hawera when I was young and was fascinated by the room above the garage filled with his collection of old telephones. My condolenses to Thelma, Kristine, John, Megan and the extended family. He will be missed.

Rest in peace my dear Uncle Malcolm. How lucky we all were to have you in our lives. Your love, your kindness, your hilarity! Thank you for bringing the extended Edgar family from the past to life through your stories and accounts. You are an extraordinary family man. I love you dearly and am so shocked and devastated you are gone. I never thought this day would come. I can hear your laugh and hear your voice. No one was ready to lose you from our lives but Polly and Ocky and all the loved ones passed will be ready for your hilarity once again. I love you Uncle Malcolm.
