Funeral service held at Eagars Te Henui Chapel
Thank you all for the well wishes and attendance either at the service or via livestream. It means a lot to us all. Out on the ocean. Where horizons converge, Far trees, and their distant breeze, Await. Anchor lifted. The winds, gather themselves. Pressing out to the edges. Gliding. Casting lines. A new year looms, Happy adages and blessings of goodwill, Ring true, always. Time, for sober pause, Reflecting on the year. The years. New joys over old sorrows. Old joys for new sorrows. We have much to be grateful for. We have much to look forward to.
Dear Tiny, Trina, Duane and family - my father Terry who was a great friend of your Terry was not able to be at the funeral. He wanted to remind you of the time when your Terry (who was very safety conscious) was trimming a tree. Apparently he was standing on a branch (quite high up) and he sawed off the wrong side of the branch and ended up cutting off his perch! Fortunately he grabbed some other branches on the way down to break his fall - so all ended well. Terry and Terry had a lot in common - they were both CB radio fans, All Black fanatics, loved cars and camping and many other things. They spent many weekends working on CB aerials and the rest of us came along for the ride. We miss those times and look back on them fondly. Terry and Tiny also came up to Auckland and did a renovation for me - they added a new bathroom and toilet into my house. What great workmanship! Truly a man to remember.
Dearest Tiny, Trina, Duane & family, we were so saddened to hear of Terry's passing, he was such a special man, and a shining beacon of fun and laughter to our whole family. We are sending all of our love & big hugs to you all. Love Helen, Matt, Milla & Gage xx
