From all of us to all of you. Rex was there for everyone in our family, over the years, from Don & Winsome to Geoff & Sheila. We will miss his friendly manner & community mindedness. He was so much more than a neighbour & he and Shirley were in most of the family wedding photos. That's how important he was to us. We are sad he is gone & will miss his smile. A gentleman & a gentle man. Condolences from the Sarten Family. Tony & Julie, Geoff & Sheila, Julie sis, Paul & Gina, Wayne & Rima (London)
Sorry to hear of your passing Charles. It was good to have you and Shirley as long time friendly neighbors. Your sense of humor was always way different to mine. I will always remember the time when you said to me that i could make as much noise as i wanted as i had the streetstock, long as it wasn’t at 6pm when the News was on. Then Shirley piped up and reckoned you were all s&it as you were deaf anyway. Stu Dearest Charles, thank you for always being a wonderful demonstration of kindness, caring and love. Your neighborly generosity and your gentle nature taught me so much, and for that i will always be grateful. Rest in peace my friend. ♥️Kylie Hi Rex, Thanks for bringing chocolate for breakfast on christmas morning, and letting me make snow men on your front lawn the couple times it snowed. Thanks for having me over for a bikkie sometimes, and always popping over to visit whenever mum and I were home. Thanks for being kind, thanks for being funny, and thank you for being our friend. we’ll miss you. Maddy♥️
Our thoughts are with you all, Special memories when your grandparents lived next to my grandad. Such a lovely family, Rex was a real friendly and kind gentleman. Sorry we won’t be able to make the service on Wednesday. Sending our love Brian & Lynette Collins
The Drylie family remember Rex with great affection from our Te Kiri days. We still treasure the silver tray donated by Rex on behalf of the family, which Andrea won on her horse at Te Kiri Gala. We send our sympathies. Maureen
Treasured memories of Rex. Our family enjoyed his company - he was always interested in family and life in general. He will be missed, especially by his immediate family. Eric & Jean Muckle (nee Langlands)
RIP Rex, was a pleasure haymaking with you all many years ago, Shirley was an awesome cook and you and your boys were great at fixing the baler which seemed to break down frequently!
Such a jovial and engaging man; he will be a huge loss. Neil, Gary, Murray and families - you are all in my thoughts. I loved talking with him on the few occasions that I saw him, and he was always interested and interesting. And he laughed a lot. Love that! Take care and look out for each other. "cuz" Heather
