JOHNSON, Shirley Mary:
Peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, 7 October 2020 aged 91. Dearly loved wife of the late Earle. Cherished mother and mother in law of Deirdre, Annette & Kevin, and Donelle. Adored Nana of Amy, Caleb, and Rebekah; Michelle, Sarah, Cassandra, and Daniel; Jahleia, and Te Ahu, and her 18 great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held at Eagars Te Henui Chapel, 174 Lemon Street, New Plymouth on Tuesday 13 October 2020 at 10.30am, followed by a private cremation.

The Best Mother in law. I was so ever blessed when meeting Earl and Shirley when Annette invited me back to her place for Lunch the first time straight into an Ambush the future inlaws. Thanks, Annie for the introduction to the best inlaws any man could wish for. We really enjoyed the visit when you came over to Perth. Shirley, you will Truly be Missed as a wonderful lady who you brought joy to everyone you met with your smile.and good humor. Robert Louis Steveson. Nana thank you for all the love & support you gave me. Im so blessed to call you my nana & can only hope Im half the woman you were, in my lifetime. I hope you knew how special you are to soo many people. No words can describe my love for you. You truely were the most gorgeous lady inside and out. I will cherish all the beautiful memories we made together & will talk about you always to my babies, your great-grandchildren. I will miss you so very much but I take comfort in knowing you are now at peace & are finally reunited with Grandad. We are here today to honour a great woman. You were my mother and friend, the best one could hope for.It was a privilege to have been your daughter. I learnt so much from you and can only hope I am half as good a mother/nana as you. Loved by all that met you. You were a great sports woman, choir singer a very caring person. Helping hand to anyone in need. You will be so missed by all that knew you. Will see you again one day, rest in peace love always Annette.
