Mike was in several bands during his short life. His last two bands were SLAM & then CRUSH. Not sure why these band pages have been taken down off facebook ??? One of his earlier bands was HOWZAT...you can still view them on Youtube...and leave comments. We will never forget you...RIP xxxx

Hey Mike, we first meet over 3 yrs ago at the Coastal Rugby Club for a gig. I thought it would be just a one off gig but over those 3 yrs we played together regularly and our musical journey took us all over the Naki. I remember that we even played in a milking shed, that was gangstar lol. not gonna lie, even though it was only 3yrs it was some of the BEST times I've ever had Performing you were always focused and ready to give the audience a great time no matter where (Milk shed) im really gonna miss you Mike, you are one of the best memories ill have when i talk to friends and Whanau about my time gigging...i wish we could of performed more together you were more than just a great singer,guitar,harmonica player your were a bloody good bugger. Farwell Mike, I will always have fond memories of our surf missions and genuine freindship. Everything that was said about you at your memorial service by family and friends was so very true. Was moving to watch an incredible service for an incredible man. Mike truley was amazing in everything he set out to do. Caroline, Paul, Don, Jenny and all of Mikes whanau and friends....together we unite and mourn a huge loss in all of our lives....may you all find comfort with each other. I am thinking of you all. Caroline I have just watched Mike's service on line I just want to thank you so much for the opportunity to say goodbye as I couldn't be there in person Mike really was what people are saying a really lovely man. He will be missed by all of us particularly you and the immediate family. Thank you for being his soul-mate and best friend your memories together will always be with you till you meet again

My Husband Stephen and I have many fond memories of Mike from the times we spent with him in the early 2000's. We enjoyed the times we heard him sing with his band. Mike was known to us thru his job. He was always a friendly and cheerful person whenever he called in and always willing to help when problems occurred. We are saddened by his passing and would like to pass on our sympathies to his family.

Mike was so full of life, his zest and passion for making the most of it and putting in your all will forever live with me; As will his love of music and performances much love to you his family. Mike was such a small part of my life yet i feel the difference lnowing him has made. i can only imagine for those of you who he was such a huge part of your life the loss you must be feeling.
