Dear Colleen, we were so sorry to hear of Brian's passing. He was a pleasure to work with at the court, although we had the occasional ding dong when we both thought we were right and neither of us would back down. You certainly spoilt him with those lunches and I loved the smiley faces. He is a big loss. The service was lovely. Kind regards, Val and Grayson

Colleen, Deepest sympathy on your very sad loss from Karin and Kevin Nielsen. I remember playing with Brian for Tukapa many years ago, a multi talented player who played lock and on the wing! An unusual combination for sure! Always enjoyed his company.😒

Colleen You will miss Brian so much but you have wonderful memories and loads of laughter to remember him by. I am sure Midge will have a beer waiting for him Gloria xx

Bowls Taranaki sadly records the passing of Brian. He was synonmous with the Taranaki Open fours ever since he appeared in the 1978 final leading for Bruce Ballinger. Brian went on to supervise our flagship event for nigh on 40 years - quite possibly a record. Brian, with Geo Walker, won the consolation pairs in 1997 and also claimed Taranaki titles in the champion-of-champions triples (1979) and New Year fours (1990). He was a magnificant stalwart of Paritutu, a terrific competitor, greatly under-rated but tremendously loyal to his team mates. I'm sure he guided Tukapa to its 17th title yesterday. May the Angels lead you into Paradise, Brian.
