Remembering good times at Cockle Bay and with the Lions. Club of Howick
Phil was, simply, Philnominal. Generousity was his life code. he couldn’t help himself. Thank goodness!! His work with the NZ Lions Youth Committee of which I was was a challenge which he relished as with all other aspects of his time in Lions. Just one aspect of his passion to serve the community. Great job Phil.
So sad to hear of Phil's passing; my wonderful memories of him are when he was first in the UK and we met up once a week in a lovely old London city pub for lunch of toasted cheese and red pepper sandwiches! terrific and we had such fun; I worked in the city of London a the time and he was starting to learn all about the fmaily business Underwood and Beechey. God bless. Sheila Miller (nee Lewis)

Sad that I didn't get to see you in time Phil. My lasting memory is of you circling our house in Mt Eden playing the bagpipes, each Christmas. Your Dad, Uncle Bob, marching behind you. Love and best wishes from Cousin Joan and family.

My condolences to you all at this very sad time. Hold on to all your wonderful memories RIP Mr Beechey. From the Beecheys in the UK. Xx
My thoughts are with Phils family at this time. I got to know Phil well through his relationship with Enliven's Chalmers Home in New Plymouth. He was a very strong advocate for the Chalmers family and campained tirelessly on their behalf during the years he was on the Presbyterian Support Central Board of Directors. Phil was inherently responsible for the upgrade of Chalmers Home. He will be missed. Best Wishes, Nicola Turner, General Manager, Enliven, Presbyterian Support Central.
Sincere condolences to Helen and family on the loss of Phil - we will always remember our times with you both through the Lions Club and our time serving on Cabinet together
