Dear Karen & family My parents are Wally & Esme Dent and have been lifelong friends with Joan since the days of the Criterion Hotel in the 60`s. It was my parents who introduced her to Alton and they all had such fun times. She was always Aunty Joan to my sister and I. When we visited NP we always went to see her and I'm so sorry we didn't know she had passed. We will always remember her sparkly personality, her cheeky laugh and her beautiful garden that she enjoyed so much. She will be so very much missed. Kind regards Tracey Dent
Condolences to all family, especially Karen and Nicole. I have wonderful memories of table tennis travels with Joan and in later years in Outdoor Bowls teams. Joan was a fun loving person to be with always. She will be missed as a very willing helper at our Paritutu Club. Take care in these times, thinking of you all with love. .
RIP Joan, a lovely lady full of fun and always had lots of jokes to tell
As a teenager I had the privilege to work with Joan at the then Kawaroa Baths for 3 summers. This was my first ever job and she took under her wing straight away. She was kind and always keen for fun and laughter I remember the time working with her fondly. I wish to pass on my codolences to your family at this time on behalf of myself and the whole Flavell Family.
