I met Mike when England tourned New Zealand in 2019. We got on immediately and kept in touch. I'd actually recommended him for a role at ESPN. I had huge respect for Mike's positive outlook and determination. I'm sure I won't be the first to tell you he was an inspiration. I'm sure I also won't be the first to tell you he made me laugh. I'll remember him very fondly. I was enormously shocked and saddened to hear about his untimely death. I wanted to send my condolences and best wishes to all his family and friends. I'm sorry I cannot be at the funeral. All thoughts with you at this sad time.

Thinking of you all very much at this time. It was a pleasure to know and work with Michael in years gone by at MDA, and a joy to see what he has done since those teenage years. We trust that you will all be blessed by precious memories even at this sad time. With our love, Mary Foster and Ruth McKenzie
