I met Mike when England tourned New Zealand in 2019. We got on immediately and kept in touch. I'd actually recommended him for a role at ESPN. I had huge respect for Mike's positive outlook and determination. I'm sure I won't be the first to tell you he was an inspiration. I'm sure I also won't be the first to tell you he made me laugh. I'll remember him very fondly. I was enormously shocked and saddened to hear about his untimely death. I wanted to send my condolences and best wishes to all his family and friends. I'm sorry I cannot be at the funeral. All thoughts with you at this sad time.

Dear Basi[,Lew and family. So sorry to read of your loss. Mike was such a large part of your life and growing up he was a large part of this community. He showed us all that life was not always fair but he made the most of every day. Our lives where all the better for having known him.
