Kay, Toni, Danni and all your families, my deepest condolances for the loss of Wayne. He will be sorely missed by many. One of my best memories of Wayne was when he showed me around Houston when I was there for work. He took me to a few local bars, showed me where he used to live with Kay and of course showed me the Ford dealerships full of Mustangs. Wayne, thanks for being a friend, we will all miss your stories, happy nature, passion for anything Mustang and your incredible automotive skills. I'm sure you are already working on your next 67.. Farewell, Marcel.

sad day today as we farewell Wayne Fabish. Earliest memories are when Wayne joined Scenic City back in the late 60s of last century. Very nice man who served 3 years on the committee. Wayne was on the dark side with GM back then and in 74 won the hard luck trophy having worked all night on Rob Yules 56 chev fitting a 396 mill in, it had it blow up 3 hours before the start of the Run. Wayne got the hard luck the following year with another 396 problem. His switch in camps and marriage to an Opunake lady and a move to America are all i remember till his return with a grown family and a lovely car. RIP Wayne. Ronn Ward

Enjoy your stories, & hold on tight to your memories. Much love & respect to Kay, Toni, Danny, Shane and their families. He was a top bloke, & a true gentleman. Wayne, I enjoyed our chats over the last few years, only wish there were more of them. I'm heartbroken for Toni, as I know she was so proud of her dad. You will be missed, not only by your family, but by everybody that crossed paths with you. Shaun. Big hugs to you Toni - I feel so sad that you are hurting. I'll never forget the way your dad looked at you at your wedding, such a happy man, you made him even more proud. And I'll never forget the dance I had with Wayne at Boyds 50th, he could really dance! Wayne, I hope there is good dance music & great Mustangs for you in heaven. Tracy xxx The Malcolm's.

Really sorry to realize that Wayne has departed. I didn`t have a long history with Wayne, but enough to appreciate that he was as solid as a rock. Must`ve been around 15 years ago when Wayne came to Brazil to work a few trips ⁣⁣as Senior Subsea on the Amethyst semi`s for Pride - while looking for a real job. ⁣No drama or frills with Wayne: he just got on with it and seemed like he instinctively and casually knew his way around a complex rig which impressed me. We kept in touch over the following years and I had plans all made, even down to accomodation booked in New plymouth to pay the Fabish`s a visit last year in April when Covid lockdown struck and those plans were foiled. Never made it to see him one last time. Adeus meu amigo.

Jim Taylor

God Speed Mr. Wayne. Your legacy will live on forever. We only spent a short time with Wayne while he was in the States visiting some of our racing family, Pip and Craig McCormick at Texas World Speedway. Wayne left us with a portion of his legacy in that short time that will live on with our family as well.

Corey and Lindsey Jones

My name is Dave Eade, I had the pleasure of meeting Wayne in Singapore in the 80s, we then worked together on several Drilling Rigs in several Countries The last time i saw Wayne, was in Houston, he was sitting in his Shelby telling me he was going to ship it to NZ. Wayne was a hell a likeable/knowledgeable guy, both in the oilfield and his cars, a really neat guy, such a easy going cool cat. My Condolences to Kay and his Family... My name is Changa Moran. I met Wayne during the 80's in Perth at another mutual friends house.Years later our paths crossed working on a drillship upgrade in Tusla shipyard, Istanbul, Turkey. Wayne was our Subsea Supt & impressed me with his hardwork & easy going, friendly, attitude. He was liked & respected by all the crew there, which really were a ratbag crew of oilfield rigpigs working on a difficult project. I had visited with Wayne a couple of times during his battle with cancer & was lucky enough to spend a few special hours with him & also share our mutual passion for classic muscle cars. Wayne will be missed by his old workmates & especially his family. My sincere condolences to Kay & all of his whanau,my thoughts are with you all at this difficult time. RIP WAYNE
